About Us

Laura Rescoe instructs the group obedience classes at Regency Kennels as well as runs the Dog Daycare. She also does in-home private lessons and behavior consulting in Oakland, Wayne and Macomb Counties and surrounding area's. She is the owner of Positive Way Dog Training.

Laura started training dogs as a child. She began with a Springer Spaniel, Pepsi, competing in 4-H as well as AKC obedience competitions where she gained her dogs' CD (Companion Dog title). At a young age she started working for local Groomers, Kennels and Vet clinics in her then hometown area of Clarkston. She began instructing classes and private lessons in 2001.

She is a member the APDT (Association of Pet Dog Trainers) which is a professional organization of individuals committed to becoming better trainers and consultants through education and are dedicated to educating the public about dog friendly training techniques.

She is also an evaluator for the AKC's Canine Good Citizen Program. Laura also volunteers on the Behavior Helpline at the Humane Society of Huron Valley in Ann Arbor.

Laura lives in Livonia with her 2 dogs. Monti is her Large Munsterlander, who is a Certified Therapy Dog through TDI (Therapy Dogs International). Together, Laura and Monti, make visits to area nursing homes to cheer patients. Laura also owns a Lab mix who loves to do tricks! She also co-owns Josh, a Border Collie, with her sister.

Besides Dog Training and Therapy Dog visits, one of Laura's favorite things is taking her dogs on camping trips mainly in Northern Michigan and the U.P. However, she has even taken her dogs camping in the Florida Keys!
